Old Saybrook, CT – Golden Horizons Elder Care Services, Inc. welcomed a new member to the management team on October 10, 2012. Kathie DeVeau of East Haddam has been with the company since May 2012 in the position of homemaker/companion. She is now stepping into the position of Administrator.
As Administrator, DeVeau will be working with the established Golden Horizons Eldercare Services team to help the company move up to its next phase of expansion. DeVeau is an experienced organizer with ability to direct projects from concept to fully operational. Her background is diverse with skills in social service, public outreach and business acumen, and includes having overseen the crisis services for 47 towns which included crisis intervention and advocacy with hospitals, police, and court systems. DeVeau is also an active volunteer for multiple organizations across the state. Her favorite is with Therapy Dogs, Inc. where she does therapy work at a convalescent home with her canine Corgi companions, Willhemina Josephina and Lille-Pad Rose (Willie & Lillie).
DeVeau earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Eastern Connecticut State University and a Master of Social Work degree in Community Organizing from the University of Connecticut. Kathie has dipped her toes into many endeavors, said Lisa Gradzewicz, President of Golden Horizons Elder Care Services, Inc. We are excited to have her join the team.
